More Pictures from 2007

August 4th, 2007 . by Todd

I’ve uploaded some more pictures from earlier in the year. Unfortunately, the weather has not been so great this summer. Weekdays are great, but weekends so far have been partly to mostly cloudy, so not much photography lately. Anyway, here are some samples from the Columbia River Gorge trip I took earlier in the year.

This is a shot of Mt Jefferson from Timerline Lodge on Mt Hood. Clouds obscure most of it, but only shot I could get.

Minor Update

August 1st, 2007 . by Todd

Just updated the Wordpress Blog software to 2.2.1. Let me know if anyone has any troubles with the site. Should load and run a bit faster now. If you don’t see the previous updates, click on the August 2007 link on the left and you’ll see the latest posts.

New Pictures!! (Finally!)

August 1st, 2007 . by Todd

I finally got around to adding some new pictures to my gallery (www.mtpgrafx.com/coppermine) Most of these are from earlier this year when my mother was visiting and we went around to the usual spots. Here’s some samples from the first set, a trip up to Mt Rainier. Rainier had very bad flooding late last year and much of the park was damaged, so only the road up to Paradise was open at the time. Along the way you can see some of the damage too.  I’ll be adding more pictures over the coming days from the Columbia River Gorge, Mt St Helens, Museum of Flight, Leavenworth, and other places we visited.
Flood Damage Near Rainier
This image shows some of the flood damage. The road we were on was completely washed out for about 100 yards or so.

The obligatory Rainier shot. That’s steam coming off the peak from the heating from the sun that day.

Another update

July 16th, 2007 . by Todd

I figured out the problem with my gallery.  I had updated it to the latest version of the gallery software. But this had nothing to do with the problem. Turns out one of the DB tables had gotten corrupted and needed to be repaired.  Unfortunately, this took some time to find out as I was not getting any errors other than Fatal Error and the support boards for the gallery software are not particularly good. Either way, it is back up and I will hopefully be putting up some new pics in the next few days. Got new pics of St Helens, Mt Hood, Mt Adams, Rainier and others to post.

Update

July 16th, 2007 . by Todd

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog update, was getting ready to upload some new pics today and discovered my entire gallery was down. In the process of trying to fix it, lost all of the DB associated with it apparently. So for the moment, my picture gallery is down. When I get it back up (and I’ll probably have to upload all new pictures for it) then I’ll post a new post with the new pics I’ve taken this year!

Big Four Ice Caves

October 3rd, 2006 . by Todd

I’ve heard a bit about the ice caves, so I finally decided to go and check them out last weekend.  Longer hike than expected, but turned out to be fairly interesting (even if my car got to visit potholes a car like mine should never see)  here are some pics, rest are up in my photo gallery.

Modified Boeing 747

Not a part of the ice caves, but I took this on the road up.  This is the modified 747 Boeign built to haul 787 parts around the world.  It’s huge.

Mt Baker

October 3rd, 2006 . by Todd

Finally got time to go back up to Mt Baker when Artist Point is open.  Long story short, it was worth the effort as it was a wonderful day and we got to see some cool scenery.  I’ve uploaded the pictures to my gallery.  Here are some samples:

This is a reflective view of Mt Shuksan in Picture Lake.  As you can see it was a wonderful day.

Latest Travels

September 25th, 2006 . by Todd

Been a bit since I posted, but been rather busy as my mother was in town and we went traveling all around the area.  We visited Mt St Helens, Mt Rainier, Columbia River Gorge, Mt Hood, took a trip on the Spirit of Washington dinner train, and took an Orca Whale Watching trip out into the San Juan Islands.  Not to mention side trips to Ikea, Fry’s and other places.  That and work has been rather busy lately too.

But, I was glad to get out and do the running around before the northwest winter hits and it will become harder to go places on the weekends.  I’m still in the process of uploading the images to my gallery, so please bear with me.  I also re-arranged the gallery to make it easier to find things in different categories.  Anyway, visit the gallery when you get a chance and here are a few snippets to get you started:

Image Gallery Updated

September 6th, 2006 . by Todd

I finally got finished with updating a large portion of my image gallery.  Partly this occured because I finally finished scanning in all my slides from previous years (some 2000 slides, 1000 negatives, etc)  So I’ve placed the better images in my image gallery at http://www.mtpgrafx.com/coppermine.  Here are a few of my more favorite ones:

Florence Italy

Gdansk, Poland

Zakopane, Poland

Prague, Czeck Republic

The Pantheon, Rome, Italy
